Browse Baltimore County People Directories

Baltimore County people directories are spread across county government, public schools, colleges, state agencies, property systems, and historical collections. Browse Baltimore County directories according to the role or time period tied to the person: a county worker appears in a current staff roster, a college employee in a campus directory, an owner in an address-led parcel record, and a past resident in a surname file or dated directory. Maryland keeps several of these tools statewide. Local history sources fill gaps left by current web listings, while official rosters show public contact details without opening private student or membership records.

Baltimore County People Directory Range

No single roster lists everyone in Baltimore County. Official people directories are shaped by role and source. County staff search lists public business contacts; school and college tools identify offices or employees; land indexes name parties to recorded instruments; and historical collections preserve residents who no longer appear online. Start with the directory whose reason for listing the person matches what is known.

These Baltimore County people directories answer different questions. A blank staff phone does not prove departure, a parcel owner may not occupy the site, and a historical surname file may contain references rather than a full profile. Confirm the person through a second source when identity matters.

Baltimore County Staff Directory Search

Because Baltimore County has no incorporated municipalities, its county employee directory is the proper local-government staff tool. Towson, Catonsville, and Dundalk are communities, not cities with separate city halls. Search first name, last name, department, or a combination. More than 30 result pages were visible during research.

A typical entry contains name, telephone, and department. It does not show title, email, office address, or a profile. If no person appears, call 311 or the department main line rather than assuming the worker is absent.

Baltimore County School Directories

The BCPS Office Directory browses district offices, main phones, named leaders, roles, and optional office websites. It is stronger for finding the head of a unit than for searching every employee. The separate advertised staff-directory page did not expose a working name search during inspection, so individual school sites and office main lines are the sound fallback.

The BCPS office listing makes that office-led structure clear.

Baltimore County people directories for public school offices

Sample listings include an office, phone, named contact, and official role, while personal email is generally absent. These public contacts do not open private student records.

Start with the office rather than a broad surname when the person serves a known school function. The directory can identify the office leader and main number, after which the school or department can route a lawful public inquiry. Older names require a dated source. Board meeting archives, annual publications, yearbooks, and newspaper databases may show who held a role before the current roster changed. Baltimore County Public Library provides historical newspaper tools, while school records that contain private student data remain outside the public directory route.

Baltimore County College Directories

The CCBC Employee Directory covers faculty and staff across Catonsville, Dundalk, Essex, and extension centers. It accepts optional search terms and an optional department or office filter, then paginates results. That makes it useful when either a surname or academic unit is known.

The CCBC source shows its search-first layout.

The UMBC Directory searches listed university community members and browses departments. Individual profiles may show a photo, full name, title, affiliations, building and room, email, and phone. Profiles are self-maintained and can lag. Neither campus tool should be treated as a public alumni or student master list.

Department browsing helps when a name is common or misspelled. Compare the affiliation, campus location, and title instead of relying on the surname alone. If a former faculty member has vanished from the live people directory, move to the institution's finding aids, archived department pages, publications, or yearbooks. UMBC's Special Collections describes Maryland history holdings and named collections, but its gallery was closed until further notice when the research was checked in July 2026. Contact staff remotely before planning an onsite visit.

Baltimore County Officials Directory History

Maryland Manual Online is an organizational directory for officials, agency leaders, boards, counties, universities, and government contacts. It is updated daily, but it is not a full state payroll phone book. Current entries help identify who leads an office, while historical Manuals dating to 1885 show who held a post in a past year.

Current roster
A directory intended to reflect today's named official or structure.
Historical manual
A dated organizational snapshot that can confirm an officeholder at that time.
Finding aid
A collection description that points to records, not a person-by-person index.

County My Representative and the BCPS Board roster add elected and education officials. Use the dated meeting archive when a current name does not answer a historical question.

Baltimore County Property Name Directories

Property systems behave like directories only after choosing the right route. SDAT Real Property Data Search does not permit online owner-name searching. Start with a street address, property account identifier, or map and parcel reference; the returned card then shows owner name, mailing address, premises, values, transfers, seller, and deed reference.

MdLandRec works differently. Its grantor and grantee indexes list parties to deeds, mortgages, liens, and related instruments, with series, date, liber and folio controls. A free account is required. The efficient chain is address to SDAT owner and deed reference, then MdLandRec party or instrument. For detailed access rules, see Baltimore County public records.

Note: A parcel owner and mailing address do not prove who currently lives at the premises.

Baltimore County License Directories

Maryland professional directories are split by regulator. The Department of Labor license search offers a broad last-name route and board searches covering 25 professions and more than 255,000 individuals and businesses. Board results can show license identity, status, dates, and discipline as that board defines them.

Maryland OneStop routes users to occupational services, while the Judiciary attorney listing supplies attorney number, name, status, admission date, and public address unless protected. Business entities belong in Maryland Business Express. A business filing can identify a resident agent or address, but officer detail varies by filing and entity type.

Baltimore County's own license module adds a separate local directory route. Citizen Access can search by record number, first and last name, or contact address, with street, unit, city, state, ZIP, and date controls. Its wildcard works on street names, not as a promise of broad person matching. County zoning approval and a state business license are separate records. The Circuit Court licensing desk handles county business-license questions, while state boards confirm professional standing. A resident agent, permit contact, or license holder may be connected to a filing without being the owner of the enterprise.

Historical Baltimore County People Directories

The Historical Society of Baltimore County research library is the strongest local directory-of-directories. Its holdings include about 4,400 surname files, cemetery transcriptions, photos, vertical files, limited directories, yearbooks, owner-labeled maps, and links to community history groups. Access may be onsite or through a paid research service.

The Historical Society page shows the scope of those local collections.

Use a surname file to gather references, then verify dates and addresses in a directory, cemetery transcription, newspaper, deed, or census record. Baltimore County Public Library also offers in-branch genealogy databases and historical newspapers, with local-history collections flagged at Arbutus, Catonsville, and Reisterstown.

The Historical Society's owner maps create another kind of people directory. Dated county maps include Griffith 1794, Sidney 1850, Taylor 1857, Military 1863, Hopkins 1877, Robinson 1882, and Bromley editions from 1898 and 1915. They can place a family or landowner near an old road, mill, reservoir tract, or community whose modern label has changed. Pair the mapped name with a deed index and surname file. The Society also holds cemetery inscription files compiled from known county church and family cemeteries, which can bridge a gap when no complete phone or reverse-directory run survives.

No Baltimore County City Directory

Baltimore County is unusual in Maryland because it has no incorporated municipalities. Charter government began in 1957, and county repositories remain the local default. A directory labeled “Baltimore” may instead describe independent Baltimore City, a postal place, or one neighborhood. Jurisdiction must be checked before treating its names as county residents.

Time adds another break. The 1918 annexation transferred some county territory to Baltimore City. A later city directory may list the same household at the same address even though the family never moved. Reverse directories, which run from address to occupant, are especially useful here. Pair the directory year with period maps, the parcel trail, and the correct custodian.

Postal names add one more trap. Towson, Catonsville, and Dundalk are communities, not separate municipal governments. Their records usually remain in county or state systems, including the countywide people directories described above.
